Desert Fox

This is the Channel F version of the classic tank battle game. There is enough in the mechanics of the game and the terrain to provide some strategy and edge. That being said the controls, in particular the rotating of the tank, were lacking. The slow response was quickly an annoyance. I highly recommend playing with a 2 or 5 minute timer. The hit counts will just keep going and roll over after 99. Adding the timer puts some pressure and an end to the game. While I can see this game being fun at the time it was released, its replay value is very low.

Shooting Gallery

This is the same game found on Videocart 1. A game of timing and angles. You have different speeds to mix up the challenge. It can be hard to tell where your shot will go at times. The pixelated paddle you shoot from just doesn't cut it for precision. I suppose as you play the game more, it might become easier. The straight shots were easy to time. Ricochet shots were fun and noticably more difficulty. The game also plays with distances which can increase the difficulty. There is a little delay when the target exits before it reenters. When the timing involves firing around this window it can be hard to hit. You get to see your shots fired vs hits. I had some fun trying to increase my accuracy through a couple of matches.
