The Electric Company Word Fun is a collection of mini-games designed to build vocabulary and reading skills. There are three games to play. The first is sort of like scrabble. Each player has letters that they can play on the board. The game doesn't have a dictionary so the opposing player must accept the word for it to count. The second game has each player control a monkey. A timer counts down as you collect letters from the jungle and drag them down to spell words. New letters appear as the existing ones are taken. Again, the players must validate and accept their opponents words at the end of the round to get credit. In the last game, letters will travel across the screen and each player must collect an additional letter that would make a word and launch it so that it hits the letters. The Electric Company is an educational TV program that ran from 1971 to 1977 that used cartoons and music to teach viewers.
